How to Switch Your SDGE Plan

Log into My Account

Visit MyEnergyCenter and log into your account. You'll need your account username.

💡 Tip: Can't log in? Call SDGE at 1-800-411-7343 for assistance.

Navigate to Billing > Pricing Plans

Look for 'Billing' in the menu, & select Pricing Plans to view your current plan and options.

💡 Tip: We recommend EVTOU5-Residential for EV users who can charge from midnight => 2am.

Compare Available Plans

Review the plans available for your address. SDGE will show you personalized cost comparisons based on your usage history.

💡 Tip: Use our calculator first to understand which plan might work best for you.

Select Your New Plan

Choose your preferred plan and confirm the change. Changes typically take effect on your next billing cycle.

💡 Tip: Your new plan will start with your next meter reading.

Important Considerations

12-Month Rule

You can only change your rate plan once every 12 months, so do compare plans carefully.

Peak Hours

Most plans have higher rates during 4-9 PM. Consider if you can shift usage outside these hours.

Special Programs

If you're on CARE, Medical Baseline, or other programs, make sure your new plan is compatible.

Future Changes

Think about upcoming changes (getting an EV, installing solar) that might affect your choice.
